There are two ways to generate business and they are advertising and prospecting. This is not a this versus that, but rather a combination of the two. I have been in business for 14 years and been a member of this BNI chapter for 12 years and when I ask people how they get business the resounding theme is word of mouth referrals. The follow up questions is what is the source of those word of mouth referrals and they usually say it is past clients or friends and family that are happy.
